"Price is Right" Pays The Rent...
As The Price is Right begins its record-breaking 39th season on CBS (and Drew Carey's 4th as host), many changes and additions are in store in Studio 33.
To kick off the new season, a new game will be debuted: "Pay The Rent". It's the first pricing game in the show's history to consistently offer a six-digit top prize: $100,000 in cash.
Next, two popular pricing games have received facelifts. "Plinko" and "Ten Chances" have now been refurbished for the new season. Check out the video on PriceisRight.com to see the results!
Also, since Rich Fields' departure from the announcer's podium, the show will now have rotating guest announcers: JD Roberto (former host of Shop Till You Drop and host of the Price live show), Brad Sherwood and Jeff B. Davis (Whose Line is it Anyway? alums) will all have a shot at the prize copy this year.
Pyramid Alive...In More Ways Than One...
Even though CBS has passed on the revival of Pyramid (twice), rumors are swirling that the concept is not dead! More updates later when they come.
Also, Ludia Inc., the company behind the Price, Press Your Luck, and Family Feud video games, is releasing a Pyramid game for Mac, PC, and Apple Mobile platforms.
